Disco "Vibes" at Christies Beach

Originally formed in mid 1977 Vibes Disco became the largest single mobile disco in the State and was owned and managed by Ken Finlay. It entertained 2000 - 3000 people per month at Christies Beach ad Campbelltown as well as various school socials. Here is a picture from a section of the crowd at a "Vibes Disco" at Christies Beach.

  1. Ken Finlay is a legend. I used him all the time to do the sound and lights for me at the FUGA youth shows. The guy knew I was totally out of my depth when it came to tuning a sound equipment to a space but he always managed to get the sound system working to a tee.

  2. Totally on board with Ross. Ken Finlay was a truly a great influence in my life at that time. Evan and I had such a fun time with him doing the AGUA and FUGA shows. One of my fondest memories is me rocking up to a Uni Show at the Bay in a Bunny Costume I hired. Ken totally pissed himself. (My nickname was Bunny at Primary and High School because I needed braces. Kids can be pretty cruell). Much respect to Ken!
